Name: PriceCheck MTN Cost: Free Download: [Google Play] [Apple] [Samsung Apps] [Blackberry World] [Windows Store]
MTN and the Pricheck have come together, and developed a co-branded mobile app. PriceCheck was initially established in 2006, from a need to compare product prices without the hustle of having to visit each store specifically. In 2010, after four years of successful operation, PriceCheck joined the Nasper Group and continued to grow since then.
The PriceCheck website and mobile app gives you the ability to compare literally millions of products, across various categories. If you come across something you like, PriceCheck then connects you with the relevant retailer and you can make the purchase from them. Prices are compared in real time, and retailers are required to provide a secure payment gateway for online credit card payments.
MTN Price Check mobile app emphasizes the important relationship between mobile in retail and e-commerce. PriceCheck CEO, Andre de Wet says, “The partnership with MTN puts PriceCheck directly in front of end-users when they are looking for product information. We are making shopping easier and more relevant for the consumer, all the while mimicking real life behavior. Less than 1% of retail happens online, yet as much as 40% of the buying decision process starts on mobile. We are now in a position to impact that crucial moment of influence. The future of commerce is on mobile and together with MTN, PriceCheck is closing the loop.”
Once downloaded, the MTN PriceCheck Mobile App will allow you to compare prices, make use of a bar code scanner, find reviews on products and view retailers details. You will also find a direct link to the MTN Online Shop, where MTN subscribers can go about their business upgrading mobile devices, buying airtime and comparing contracts amongst other things.
MTN group chief commercial officer Pieter Verkade explained,“MTN is continually exploring opportunities to deliver a distinct customer experience to our customers. The partnership with PriceCheck marks another important step in our expansion into the digital space, particularly into e-commerce and will allow customers to find the best deal wherever they go. Whereas our customers in South Africa will be first to enjoy the benefits of this relationship, plans are already underway to introduce a local version of the app in other markets in the region,”
As PriceCheck says, “if you’re still not using PriceCheck, you’re probably paying too much.”
